The preparations for this major event are already in full swing. The "decorative" Clock on the Kornhausplatz ticking. The fan zones for the upper old town are defined by the competent authorities and organized. There is the active, shared experience to be celebrated at midnight.
Even the lower old town comes into play: As so-called chill-out zone, it will give football fans the chance, their enthusiasm - make for a cozy get together again on a normal level - or their frustrations. To this - not so easy - To take on task, the Town Board is on working constructively with the strips. Responsibility for security lies with the city, where what happens is for the trader. There are authorized in the bottom center no additional food stalls in the streets, so it is only at the local restaurant establishments to make the joyous occasion. For this purpose a coordinating body has been created which provides the organizational flow of information. Initial discussions with guest hosts have revealed that they are aware of their responsibilities and be committed to want the end a pleasant evening and will not result in a general booze. For Bern is a unique opportunity to make a lively night life without fighting, vandalism and bawling attention: Cozy Enjoy the unique atmosphere of Old Town.
One thing is however certain: The tolerance of the residents about sleep will be required during the Euro 08. But we see it positively and look forward to a memorable football festival in Bern.
